A life devoted to family, faith, and lifting others up

Services & Memorial Details
Join us in honoring Lillian P. Potter.
Lillian was born in Los Angeles in 1945 and grew into a woman of remarkable strength and compassion. A devoted mother, grandmother, and friend, she spent her life lifting others up — from co-founding Stout Street Foundation, a recovery home in Denver, to advocating for incarcerated women through Las Hermanas in Lakewood. Her home was always open, her kitchen always full, and her heart always had room for one more — whether that was a grandchild, a stray cat, or someone in need of a second chance. She raised three children, loved her grandchildren fiercely, traveled the country with Don in their RV, and finished her days in the Arizona warmth she loved, surrounded by friends, family, and the feral cats she championed.
The chapters of a life well lived — from Los Angeles to Yuma, and everywhere in between.
The passions that defined her life and the things she held closest to her heart.
From her husband and five children to all the grandchildren and great-grandchildren who followed, Lillian loved her family fiercely.
A devout Catholic whose faith guided her through every chapter of life, giving her the strength to transform her own story and help others do the same.
From co-founding Stout Street Foundation in Denver to leading Las Hermanas outreach for incarcerated women, she devoted her life to bringing light to others.
Lillian was known for her cooking skills and loved entertaining for friends and family.
A lifelong lover of pets, Lillian always had dogs and cats roaming inside and out. She finished her days as a feral cat ambassador with the Yuma Humane Society.
Summers in Olathe, Kansas — nachos, fresh fruit, and endless swimming. She bought a house with a pool so her grandchildren would never stop visiting.
Moments captured through the years
The stories we share keep her spirit alive.
Lillian was love and I'm so very thankful that she was a part of my life, her impact will be felt for generations to come :) Love to the family and please know the Stout Street Family is always here if you need anything.
Grandma, you were and always will be such an important person in my life. You loved and cared for the people in your life so much, and gave so much to people you didn't even know. You always welcomed everyone into your home, made stiff margaritas, and cooked up the best Mexican feasts ever. You spoke up and stood on your values. You loved animals that needed love. You were also a living example of redemption; someone able to lose everything and fight to make the personal changes necessary to build a better life for you, Grandpa, and your kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids. You taught me how important all these things are in living a full life. I miss hearing your voice, and I'm so sad I won't get to spend time with you here in this life again, but I can feel your presence. You'll always be a guiding light for me and the people that knew you. Love you more!
I sure miss your hugs. I love you and I miss you
I can't believe that Lillian hasn't come home, she always came home, even if she didn't want to, she came home! I believe I spoke to her early about 5 AM on Tuesday morning and she told me she was coming home, I said the Rehab in Yuma? She said no, I going home! I asked if she was feeling well enough to do that and she said that doesn't matter I want to see Blue, Annie, Smudgey, Elvis, and the rest of the cats! I asked if the hospital is arranging your transportation? Lillian said that if don't, Chance can give her a ride. It didn't matter what I said after that exchange, she told that she was going to dialysis when they came for her. That was the last time I talked to her. She didn't come home this time! I miss her so much 😢 😔 😞 😪so 😭 I love ❤️ you so much 💓 Lillian !!!
